Savitaipale Village

Savitaipale Activity Center Suvanto and Eksote are participating in the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health’s “Täytyy” (”We must”) project, which aims to integrate housing and services so that aging individuals can live meaningful and dignified lives in their own homes until the end of their lives. As part of the “Täytyy” project, Eksote and the Activity Center Suvanto commissioned a concept and idea plan for an age-friendly center in Savitaipale.

The general plan for Savitaipale’s central area, referred to as the “Village Courtyard Area,” covers a radius of approximately 250 meters. The idea is that the concepts and ideas from the concept plan can be used as references for similar small town centers in the future.

The initial data for the project was based on the report “Changing Society – Changing Services” by Jarmo Suominen and Erkki Vauramo. In addition to information from the client and town authorities, local insights were gathered through two resident workshops.
