Sumatra

Peeking from behind the rocky peninsula and coastal pine trees in Hiittinen archipelago, Sumatra is a sauna and a guesthouse, united under one roof. The steam room is separated from the guest room, which also functions as a dressing room. An old pine tree, used to hold up a bucket shower, protrudes through a hole in the larch board roof. The sauna offers a view to the sea and the sunset. The window surfaces are shielded with teak slats to prevent light from reflecting onto the sea.
