The design of this detached house, located in a culturally and historically valuable setting, is based on creating a modern, villa-like ensemble that blends seamlessly with the surrounding historical architecture and the beautiful natural landscape. The project includes a sauna building by the lakeshore and a carport.
The architecture of the main building draws inspiration from National Romanticism and the building methods typical of that era: massive brick construction, natural materials, and natural ventilation. The main building is rectangular, two stories high, and topped with a mansard roof.
The upper part of the main building, built from solid brick blocks, rests on a concrete basement embedded into the terrain. The façades are site-built brickwork, and the upper floor’s mansard roof with dormer windows is also made of brick. Interior walls are finished with clay plaster and clay paint. Windows are wooden, and all fixed furnishings are custom-made by a carpenter.
The basement houses a culvert that functions as part of the natural ventilation system. The ground floor accommodates the entrance and utility rooms, as well as shared living and dining spaces, while the upper floor houses the bedrooms and bathrooms. In the basement, there are additional bathing facilities and a gym.
The sauna building is constructed from laminated log.
