Each year, Puuinfo presents the Wood Award “in recognition of a building, structure or interior that represents high-quality Finnish wood architecture or in which wood has been used in a way that advances construction technology.”
At Kuusijärvi, wood has been used in diverse ways, integrating it into the continuum of sauna architecture and the character of the unique site. The tarred Douglas fir roof of the information pavilion, the log smoke saunas and the varied wood surfaces bring together tradition and contemporary timber architecture. Read more about it here.
In addition to the Wood Award the public can also vote for their favorite. Vote for yours by 30 October here!
Thank you to the whole team!
